Global Graphics Starts Strategic Business Relationship with Roland DG

Press release from the issuing company

Cambridge, UK - Global Graphics, a leading developer and provider of software platforms for digital printing, including the Harlequin RIP®, announced today the start of a strategic business relationship with Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide.

Akihiro Sadaki, Executive Officer and Division President of R&D for Roland DG, said, “To add value to our Roland VersaWorks Dual RIP and print management software supplied with our inkjet printers and to provide our customers with the ability to efficiently handle ever larger and complicated color files, we are excited to announce that we are adopting Global Graphics’ Harlequin RIP® engine. We value their track record and proven performance in the commercial printing market, especially in high-end graphic arts.”

“Under the long-term partnership” Sadaki continued, “we will be able to collaborate with the experienced and talented team of Global Graphics engineers who specialize in color management and screening technology to provide solid support for our customers. This agreement will also allow us to reduce lead time for getting our products to market while holding down development and maintenance costs.”

Yoshiyuki Hagiwara, Representative Director of Global Graphics K.K., said, “With this partnership, I look forward to extending our color management technology into Roland DG’s next generation printing and cutting technologies. In addition to expanding the range of our business, I am confident that we will enhance our RIP technology further through collaboration with Roland DG.”

Harlequin RIP® is widely acknowledged to be the fastest RIP engine available on the market and is quickly becoming the technology of choice for an increasing number of digital press solutions due to its ability to deliver fast and accurate page output times far in excess of the rated speed of the industry’s leading print devices. Additional features that press vendors can choose to integrate include color management and screening.
