Olympus Group Adds MCT Digital VersaTech Laser/Router/Knife Digital Die- Cutting System

Milwaukee, WI - MCT Digital recently installed their VersaTechTM 3 in 1 laser, router and knife cutting solution at Olympus Group based in Milwaukee, WI. Olympus Group's expertise ranges from wide and grand format fabric and vinyl printing to vehicle graphics, theatrical curtains, mascot creation and store signage and décor.

The MCT VersaTech 3.2M wide finishing system delivers unsurpassed laser and knife cutting as well as robust high speed routing versatility all on the widest range of materials and applications on a single system. The VersaTechTM offers a liquid cooled 100W CO2 laser and a liquid cooled 2.5kW (peak), 60,000 rpm router spindle. Olympus Group studied the alternatives and determined the MCT VersaTech 3,2M system with the capabilities and versatility of a laser plus traditional routing and knife cutting on one platform was good fit for their requirements.

The custom nature of Olympus's offerings pointed toward the fully automated laser solution that only MCT offers. The VersaTech’s traditional routing and knife cutting also played a large role in their decision to by the MCT VersaTech over other finishing systems on the market.

According to Jason Ahart, Olympus COO “We have other cutting tables but the capabilities of the MCT VersaTech laser solution really made the decision to buy it easy for us. The laser can handle all of our large and grand format dye-sub fabric cutting needs." Ahart also said "The laser is impressive but we also have large volume routing projects as well and the VersaTech's router provides 2X to 4X more throughput on thicker rigid materials than on our current routing and cutting flatbeds."
