Press release from the issuing company
SAN DIEGO, CA - June 16, 2004 - Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading global provider of production printing and secure document delivery solutions, today announced the release of the Solimar Print/Director, version 5.14. Designed to streamline the workflow and management of production output processes, the Solimar Print/Director empowers organizations to dramatically reduce time spent performing manual data center tasks, resulting in greater employee productivity.
The Solimar Print/Director allows thousands of organizations around the world to easily expand and control their enterprise production print processes by providing robust data stream transforms, physical connections for a wide variety of computing environments, and sophisticated job queue management. In addition to enabling "any-to-any" data stream portability, the system also incorporates powerful job management features and an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), providing a single comprehensive enterprise output management solution that meets a diverse range of printing and electronic presentation requirements.
The Solimar Print/Director version 5.14 offers new high-speed data stream transforms that produce print-optimized PostScript to support a broader range of monochrome, highlight color, and full color printers. The added conversion modules transform composite PostScript and PDF data into fully rasterized PostScript that essentially eliminates procedure data associated with composite PostScript files.
“The new modules in Print/Director v5.14 provide our customers with the flexibility of producing either rasterized or composite PostScript, whichever data type is optimal for their environment,” states Mary Ann Rowan, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Print/Director v5.14 delivers unmatched enterprise output management capabilities to dramatically streamline data center operations around the world.“
Print/Director v5.14 also includes enhancements to the Job Separator module, a unique component that improves job routing and automated job management capabilities using page counting. The Job Separator module may be used to optimize the workflow of PCL and PostScript data streams, resulting in easier load balancing, faster processing, and enhanced throughput.
