ASL Print FX’s Award Winning Labels Use Sun Chemical Inks

Press release from the issuing company

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Sun Chemical’s inks were used on labels created by ASL Print FX that won the “Best of Class in Flexography Wine & Spirits” award during the annual awards competition hosted by the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI).

ASL Print FX, a label and packaging solutions converter based in Vaughan, Ontario Canada has won more than 30 awards since 2009 from the Flexographic Technical Association, TLMI, Packaging Association of Canada, Gold Ink Awards and World Label Association. Many of the awards they have won were “best in show” or “best in class” at these competitions.

The winning label called “Night Glider” features a flying squirrel in the night sky surrounded by stars.

“Our customer, Pelee Island Winery located in Southwestern Ontario, uses labels that feature wildlife from the island and in this label they wanted to feature a flying squirrel,” said Stacy Daly, Vice President, General Manager and Partner at ASL Print FX. “One of the goals we wanted to achieve was to have the stars come out and not overpower the flying squirrel. It wasn’t an easy process, but we achieved it thanks to the products and machinery/technology we use, including Sun Chemical inks.”

Sun Chemical has been the ink supplier for ASL Print FX for 10+ years and the partnership has been strong.

“Our whole team at ASL Print FX trusts Sun Chemical and their products,” Daly said. “They provide us with a big portfolio of products and can give us anything that we need, from water-based to UV inks and more. More than that, the partnership works well. It is my job to make the labels and it is their job to provide me with inks that meet our needs and the needs of our customers. I want to work with people I trust, and I trust Sun Chemical.”

ASL Print FX has submitted many awards to the Flexographic Technical Association and TLMI over the years because labels are judged fairly by people who know and understand the technical intricacies of printing.

“Winning the ‘Best in Class in Flexography Wine & Spirits’ award from TLMI is a tremendous honor because people who do what we do are judging it and it means that my peers are giving us a vote of confidence,” Daly said. “At ASL Print FX, we have invested in state of the art technology and fantastic suppliers, like Sun Chemical, that deliver game changing products. What it really comes down to is the passion of the people we have here and the partners who we trust and rely on. We don’t just print labels, together we make magic happen. At the end of the day, we feel it is easy for our customers to do business with us and Sun Chemical does a great job in helping us with that.”

“We’re thrilled for ASL Print FX in winning this award and we’re especially glad to be the partner who meets their needs,” said Rod Staveley, President of Sun Chemical Canada. “It is always a privilege for us to work with a forward thinking organization like ASL Print FX and we’re grateful for the confidence they have in us in meeting their needs and requirements.”
