IKON Adds Canon Color Enabled Multifunction Systems to Best in Class Portfolio

Press release from the issuing company

VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--June 1, 2004-- IKON Office Solutions, the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today announced the latest additions to IKON's growing family of best-in-class color solutions - the Canon C6800 and C3100 Series color enabled imageRUNNER multifunctional systems. Available immediately, Canon's first black-to-color conversion systems help meet fast-growing demand for entry level color in today's office environments, while providing cost-effective, high-quality black and white document reproduction capabilities that are integral in day-to-day operations. "In addition to streamlined processes and lower costs, companies increasingly require color capabilities. The new Canon color enabled multifunction systems bring a new level of versatility to document management, allowing companies that occasionally use color to conveniently and cost effectively produce quality documents - without the need for a separate dedicated device," said Cathy Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for IKON. "IKON combines best-in-class solutions, such as the C6800 and C3100, with world-class services that help companies take full advantage of these systems in their unique environments." Both new imageRUNNER models feature the user-friendly interfaces, image quality and overall reliability associated with Canon systems, in addition to media weight versatility and improved output management. The imageRUNNER C6800 features the fastest black-to-color conversion system released to date, engineered to meet the high-volume workflow demands of busy office environments, while operating at 68 pages per minute (ppm) for black and white output, and 16 ppm for full color output. The imageRUNNER C3100 series, featuring the C3100 and the C3100N, has been specifically tailored as an entry-level offering capable of handling the volumes of most workgroups and departments, functioning as 31 ppm black and white copier/printer, with the added ability to produce color at 7 ppm. Both the imageRUNNER C6800 and C3100 Series multifunction systems deliver advances in paper handling options and workflow management for faster turnaround times and increased return on investment. The C6800 with the Canon A-Si drum technology retails for $24,000. The C3100 with Canon's Ultra-Fast Rendering print technology retails for $8,900, while the C3100N with Canon's Multi-PDL Printer Kit retails for $11,500.
