Mimeo Announces New Services to Alleviate Burden of Training Professionals
Press release from the issuing company
WASHINGTON, (ASTD Conference and Expo), May 25 -- Three services to further reduce heavy administrative burdens associated with producing and distributing training and support materials were announced today by Mimeo, the leading provider of on demand print services. Mimeo is best known for providing end-to-end, web-based document creation, production and shipping services -- all available directly from a customer's desktop. Mimeo has now extended its offerings to include: 1) Enhanced Inventory Storage and Fulfillment Services, 2) CD/DVD Duplication Services, and 3) Document Design and Format Conversion Services. Services are available immediately.
Training professionals are usually distracted with tedious tasks associated with development, production and distribution of their materials. This often includes working with multiple vendors, managing and coordinating multiple processes, materials, and personnel. A variety of time consuming processes -- such as converting files; meeting with printers; printing, collating, and binding documents; sourcing tabs and CD's; assembling kits; inserting promotional items; packaging and sending materials to their final destination -- can overwhelm training professionals to the point where content and curriculum may suffer. Mimeo's "one-stop" online print center now provides more comprehensive services that further relieve training departments from such administrative burdens so they can focus on providing strategic value to the company.
"Human Resources and training professionals are under extreme pressure to increase the value they bring to the organization, with no increase in their resources," said John Lyons, CEO of Mimeo, Inc. "Today, training departments must consider new strategies to keep up with these demands. Outsourcing non- strategic, yet essential, functions by creating and fulfilling training materials directly from the desktop, 24/7, is becoming a popular solution."
Mimeo's new services are a direct result of discussions and work with existing customers, who expressed a strong interest in further extending the convenience, time and cost savings they enjoy with Mimeo's printing services to these new areas. Mimeo has been working with selected customers to develop and deliver these services on a pilot basis for some time. Mimeo's announcement of the availability of these services to the general public is a confirmation that delivery of these new services has been finely tuned to meet the same level of quality and professionalism that Mimeo offers in its original print on demand services.
Inventory Storage and Fulfillment Services: Now customers can use Mimeo's online interface to specify which warehoused materials maintained at Mimeo storage facilities, should be packaged with their Mimeo document order. Commonly stored items include marketing brochures, promotional items, and custom binders.
CD and DVD Duplication Services
Mimeo now offers CD and DVD duplication services with no minimum order. Mimeo does not charge set up fees and can guarantee a two business day turn- around on orders under 500 CDs. Mimeo provides direct color-printed CDs and inserts, and offers free online content storage. Pricing is based on quantity and packaging options such as CDs in a paper sleeve, CD in a slim case, etc.
Document Design and Format Conversion
Mimeo has now expanded their design services, including document creation and layout services, to help customers improve the effectiveness and impact of their documents. Specific offerings include document conversion from any file format into another, adding new graphic content like charts and graphs to increase the power of existing manuals or presentations, and formatting a logo for use in electronic documents.
