Sonoco Recognizes Supplier Sustainability Award Recipients

HARTSVILLE, S.C., U.S. -- Sonoco, one of the largest diversified global packaging companies, has unveiled its 2015 Supplier Sustainability Awards. Recipients are: American Packaging, AT&T, Eastman Chemical, Staples, Rockwell Automation and Superior (Rookie of the Year).

The Supplier Sustainability Program recognizes Sonoco suppliers who demonstrate clear differentiation from their competitors with measurable, strategic and transparent social and environmental responsibility efforts. The program was launched in 2012 by Sonoco's Corporate Sustainability Team. 

“This year, Sonoco reviewed 25 entrants," said Marc Ensign, director, Global Category Management, Sonoco. “At Sonoco, we take sustainability seriously, and we recognize these great partner companies who have strong and measurable social and environmental policies.”

Award recipients exemplified definitive leadership in various categories such as water, energy, emission and waste disposal reduction goals; environmental policies; social responsibility reports; and codes of conduct. The 2016 Supplier Sustainability Award application will be available in November 2015. Learn more about Sonoco's sustainability efforts at www.sonoco.com/sustainability.
