Beijing Newspaper Chooses KPG Newsetter System For Production Efficiency

Düsseldorf, Germany - Stand 5D24: Guang Ming Daily Newspaper in Beijing, China, has signed a contract to purchase a Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) Newsetter TH180 platesetter system to improve production efficiency. The system will be installed at the newspaper's new prepress room in September 2004. The flatbed thermal CtP device was chosen to provide significant reductions in waste and make-ready times. Comments director Mr Zhao Ping from Guang Ming Daily: "The combination of thermal base technology and KPG support make this the ideal solution for Guang Ming Daily." Guang Ming Daily was established in 1949 and they have just set up one of the most sizeable and modern editing system in China. The company prints out a total of eighteen publications - including the Guang Ming Daily and Entertainment News. The KPG Newsetter TH180 is suitable for many newspaper formats including panorama, tabloid and broadsheet. It is a high-quality, versatile solution capable of outputting up to 180 plates per hour. The modular design of the system allows the customer to choose a fully automated operation, or a semi-automated configuration and provides the option to manually load the plates into the Newsetter and unload directly from the processor.
