Düsseldorf, Germany — Stand 5D24: Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) reports significant sales of its range of market leading solutions for monitor and remote proofing at drupa 2004. The solutions include KPG Matchprint Virtual portfolio and a new version of the company’s industry leading online proofing application – RealTimeProof.
Says Rob Pipe, KPG worldwide director of virtual proofing: ”The monitor proofing area of our stand has seen a constant flow of visitors since day one and for us this is definitely becoming the ‘virtual proofing drupa’. KPG Matchprint Virtual technology has been validated by the most critical colour experts in the industry and we are now bringing a next generation of Matchprint Virtual products - that complete the workflow from desktop to press site - to the market.”
Additionally, with announcements from leading workflow vendors EFI, Heidelberg and Esko-Graphics that they are integrating RealTimeProof into their workflows, KGP’s RealTimeProof is quickly becoming the industry standard online proofing application.
Matchprint Virtual is being demonstrated in four versions: the top of the range option launched at Graph Expo 2003 as well as the Matchprint Virtual Press Side Proofing solution which closes the proofing loop by bringing a monitor proofing solution directly into the press room and Matchprint Virtual Desktop and LCD which provide lower cost options.
Yehuda Messinger, general manager, RealTimeProof products, concludes: “Visitors to our stand have been impressed by the range of solutions we now offer. From an entry level ASP solution to a fully integratable JDF solution and from content to high quality contract colour monitor proofing, customers are beginning to understand how it might work for them. We expect drupa to be a turning point for monitor proofing.”
Matchprint Virtual Press Side Proofing System, the next generation of KPG's award winning, SWOP-certified, monitor proofing system – Matchprint Virtual Proofing System – designed for installation directly into the pressroom, creates a completely digital workflow that allows virtual proofing to extend beyond agencies, designers and prepress to the printer. Connected through the www.matchprintvirtual.com web gateway, all parties, including the printer, are able to view and approve or electronically mark and return for correction the same proofs within minutes irrespective of location. With Matchprint Virtual Press Side Proofing System, the same proof can be viewed in the pressroom for use during the print run.
Matchprint Virtual LCD Proofing System combines the convenience of proofing from a desktop computer with the colour and accuracy of the Matchprint Virtual Proofing solution and the productivity and collaboration tools of the www.matchprintvirtual.com web gateway. Utilising high-end flat panel displays Matchprint Virtual LCD simplifies installation requirements and enables personal proofing. The system consists of a Matchprint Virtual LCD monitor, Matchprint Virtual Color Calibration Software, KPG Color Fidelity Module, a Matchprint Virtual colorimeter and the full suite of web based proofing tools
Matchprint Virtual Desktop Proofing System brings colour accurate monitor proofing to the colour retouching and image management stages of workflow. Linked to Adobe Photoshop, Matchprint Virtual Desktop allows users to view colour accurate proofs from RGB and CMYK data at an earlier stage in the workflow, increasing productivity and accuracy. The system consists of a Matchprint Virtual LCD monitor, Matchprint Virtual Color Calibration Software, KPG Color Fidelity Module and Matchprint Virtual colorimeter.
RealTimeProof v5.0 provides a new "multiple-view" and "compare" feature set, allowing simultaneous streaming, viewing, collaboration on, annotation and comparison of file versions in high resolution. The "compare" function efficiently highlights any type of version difference, whether text or color related. RealTimeProof 5.0 will be available for both the ASP and client/server configurations of RealTimeProof solutions
