Sun Chemical’s Bernhard Fritz to Discuss Packaging Solutions that Comply with Strict Regulations at Andigráfica 2015

Press release from the issuing company

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA – Sun Chemical’s Dr. Bernhard Fritz, product manager for sheetfed systems, will speak about ways that printers and brand owners can meet local and global regulations required for substrates intended to be in contact with foods, during Andigráfica 2015.

The seminar, to be held on June 4th from 11:30-12:45 p.m. at the Corferias Pavilion 9, will show how low migration solutions help prevent inks and substrate materials from migrating into food, pharmaceutical, and tobacco products and meet the world’s strictest compliance measures, including the Plastics Implementing Measure, REACH, the Plastics Directive, and the Swiss Ordinance.

Fritz will then discuss how these standards, combined with local regulations, affect printers and brand owners in Colombia and the Andean region.

“Sun Chemical leads the way in providing best practices for food packaging printing and offers materials for converters, ranging from inks and coatings to adhesives, that are specifically designed to ensure the low migration of inks on packaging,” said Fernando Tavara, President, Sun Chemical Latin America. “Our priority is always to work with our customers to help them achieve their goals, whether they include sustainability initiatives or extra protection on packaging to prevent ink migrating into food. During Andigráfica, we’ll show solutions that can help them achieve their compliance goals.”

During the exhibition, visitors are also welcome to Hall 17, Booth #1509 where they can be introduced to Sun Chemical’s SunPak®LMQ and SunPak® FSP products, which are designed to help address the risk brand owners face in food and pharmaceutical packaging, where compounds from materials in the packaging structure can migrate into the product or the surrounding environment.

SunPak LMQ and SunPak FSP inks exhibit very low odor, off-flavor and migration levels, and offer a comprehensive solution to brand owners and converters who are looking for ways to address migration concerns for food, pharmaceutical and tobacco applications.

The Sun Chemical solution combines chemistry, press preparation procedures, lithographic guidance and analytical support to help converters meet the most demanding requirements.
