ATLANTA, Ga. – TAPPI’s Centennial Celebration Week, April 18-25 in Atlanta, will bring together members from around the world for a week of special programming, special events and celebrations. Co-located with PaperCon, the programming, provided by various TAPPI divisions, combines the latest technology from multiple industry segments and demonstrates the strong bonds between each step in the supply chain in the pulp, papermaking, plastics (and laminates), corrugated and nanotechnology industries.

Presented by Stephen Shannon, US Sales Manager Strategic Accounts with Industrial Packaging Solutions. In addition, Hewlett-Packard Company will engage the audience in a presentation on how technology will affect consumer buying trends in the future, and how packaging will adjust to these new demands.

The Boxplant of the Future

A look at what the boxplant of the future might look like in relation to three main categories: Corrugators, Converting and Substrates. Teams from multiple companies were interviewed to get their perspective on what might be possible in the next 45 years and these “pie in the sky” predictions will be presented by an impartial speaker.

Fiber Based Additives

Chaired by Sean Ireland of Verso Paper Corporation, presentations will include: Research, Development, Scale-up and Production of Microfibrillated Cellulose/ Mineral Composite Materials for Paper and Board Applications (David Skuse, Imerys) and Pigmented Micro- Nano-Fibrillated Cellulose (MNFC) as Packaging Composite Material: a First Assessment (Michel Schenker).
