New QuarkXClusive XTensions module provides personalization on HP presses

Press release from the issuing company

DUESSELDORF, Germany (Drupa) -- Quark Inc. today announced the release of QuarkXClusive, a new XTensions module that puts powerful variable data publishing capabilities in the hands of QuarkXPress 6 users. The new XTensions module lets businesses output customised, database-driven documents on HP Indigo digital presses. "QuarkXClusive makes on-demand custom printing efficient because it allows personalised printing without putting excessive demands on the RIP," said Juergen Kurz, senior vice president of product development at Quark. "This gives Quark and HP customers the flexibility to print high-volume jobs with personalised content." "This is another significant example of Quark's commitment to making rich content personalisation accessible to our customers. There is a tremendous market opportunity in print-on-demand and variable-data publishing, especially as new governmental regulations begin to restrict marketing across other channels of communication," said Cliff Kaplan, Quark's vice president of custom solutions. "Using variable data for more relevant communications is the future of printing, so we're pleased that Quark is making QuarkXClusive available to HP Indigo digital press users in QuarkXPress 6," said Jean-Luc Meyer, vice president of digital publishing solutions, Imaging and Printing Group at HP. "As the cost of digital printing comes down, there are more opportunities than ever before for businesses to create uniquely targeted, design-rich printed materials. Our work with Quark is helping make personalisation technology in graphic design applications ubiquitous." "Personalised publishing is an important aspect of Quark's strategy, and we believe our focus on helping our customers take advantage of new business opportunities sets us apart from the competition. With QuarkXClusive available to all QuarkXPress users and Quark Dynamic Document Server available to OEM solutions partners, Quark is moving aggressively into providing more customised solutions to meet industry needs," continued Quark's Kaplan. "In addition, in our new capacity as an executive member of PODi, we are taking an active role in developing open standards for personalised digital printing." System requirements QuarkXClusive requires QuarkXPress 6.0 or later for Mac OS X. Pricing and availability The QuarkXClusive XTensions module is available to users of QuarkXPress 6 at no charge.
