Press release from the issuing company
2004, Düsseldorf, Germany; May 6, 2004 – Esko-Graphics, the world leader of packaging pre-production solutions and a global supplier of prepress systems for commercial printers, has selected GretagMacbeth’s iCPlate II Advanced plate reading device as the measurement solution for their CtP portfolio of products, namely the PlateDriver family of violet CtP products [PlateDriver Compact, PlateDriver 4 Semi, Semi/Auto 6 and Semi/Auto 8], and the new 4up CtP platesetter for direct exposure of traditional UV plates, the Espresso. Accurate plate reading is essential to save time and reduce ink, paper and plate waste from press runs with bad plates. The iCPlate II Advanced plate reader provides highly accurate measurements of all types of plates, ensuring quality plate production for Esko-Graphics customers.
“Our iCPlate II plate reader, introduced last year, has received exceptional acceptance in the market and has been judged as the best in class in terms of measurement accuracy, reproducibility and ease-of-use by major CtP equipment manufacturers. This high level of quality enables Esko-Graphics to deliver the highest level of plate quality to their customer base,” said Ken Boyle, VP Worldwide Sales for GretagMacbeth. “We are very excited to partner with Esko-Graphics. This is a key milestone in developing a long-term relationship with Esko-Graphics on a worldwide basis.”
“During the past 6 months, Esko-Graphics has carefully studied the market for plate measuring devices, and our final evaluation placed the iCPlate II as the clear choice for our CtP customers who favor an accurate plate readier for both the plate room as well as the pressroom,“ said Christian Erikstrup, Product Manager for Offset CtP at Esko-Graphics. ”The measurement accuracy for FM screening and the repeatability of the device were clear differentiators in helping us to select the best device. The iCPlate II will bring added value to the CtP products of Esko-Graphics, ensuring trouble-free calibration of our CtP equipment and faster turn around on our customers printing presses.”
