EFI Launches Next Generation OneFlow Prepress Workflow Software at drupa

Press release from the issuing company

DUSSELDORF, Germany--May 6, 2004-- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today introduced version 2.0 of its innovative OneFlow prepress workflow software. EFI OneFlow(TM) offers an easy-to-use, cost-effective solution for streamlining digital and offset printing and proofing with a range of advanced digital prepress tools. New features to OneFlow 2.0 enable increased efficiency and prepress productivity with enhanced document quality and consistency. The solution was unveiled at drupa, the industry's largest international tradeshow, held in Dusseldorf, Germany, May 6-19, 2004. "We are pleased to deliver the next generation of our unique OneFlow solution, bringing greater prepress efficiency, productivity and profits to the professional printing market," said Ghilad Dziesietnik, VP of Professional Printing Workflow Applications at EFI. "OneFlow 2.0 features exciting new capabilities to further streamline prepress operations and improve the quality of color output. OneFlow's time-saving workflow automation tools and powerful color management solutions along with its intuitive interface make it easy to master the prepress management process." EFI OneFlow is the only PDF-based prepress software to provide centralized management of multiple digital, offset and inkjet printing devices. Geared for commercial printers in the 2-up and 4-up market, OneFlow allows users to build custom workflows and automate prepress functions. An intuitive, icon-based graphical user interface lets users easily design a workflow path to handle preflighting, trapping, RIPping, imposition, soft proofing, and more. David Zavadsky, Information Systems Manager at Econprint Inc. in Verona, Wisconsin, is impressed with the efficiency OneFlow brings to his short-run commercial print operations. "With OneFlow the workflows are so easy to build - just drag and drop. If we need a special imposition or trapping workflow for a particular job or customer, we can easily build one in a minute or so and get it up and running. We've cut about a day out of production time for new orders. That means we've cut an entire shift out of the equation. EFI OneFlow took us in the direction we needed to go and it got us there a lot faster than we could have imagined." New Features to EFI OneFlow 2.0 include: Integrated Proofing with Best(TM) Technology - EFI's industry-leading proofing software is now fully integrated with OneFlow 2.0 offering users superior color management and expanded connectivity for up to 50 proofing devices. Advanced Imposition - EFI Impose(TM) OneFlow Edition offers fully integrated imposition capabilities to improve prepress efficiency, featuring dynamic color bars and on-the-fly custom template creation, as well as support for third-party imposition templates. OneFlow Hybrid Screening(TM) - In addition to OneFlow's AM screening, a new Hybrid Screening tool enables AM and FM screening for professional-quality output in documents that include photos, text and line art. Hybrid Screening eliminates color shifts, improves screen tints, and prevents moire, resulting in greater color control and crisper, more vibrant output. Interactive Workflow Management - The OneFlow Interactive feature allows customized workflows to be modified on-the-fly at any point during the prepress process, enabling changes on a per-job basis without creating new workflow paths, and leading to increased job throughput and productivity. Browser-based Job Tracking - New OneFlow Job Tracker application enables remote management and approval of jobs through a fast and easy-to-use web-based interface. Staff can track job status and preview files in real-time, speeding job turnaround time and improving customer service. JDF Connectivity - OneFlow 2.0 will be compliant with CIP4 ICS (Interoperability Conformance Specifications) for prepress and digital printing, enabling seamless, open connectivity to third-party vendor solutions OneFlow supports an extensive range of file formats including PDF, PostScript, Tiff/IT, EPS and unique file formats such Microsoft Word and Publisher; with version 2.0 OneFlow now accepts native PowerPoint files. Users can output to multiple devices, including production level and mid-range digital color/B&W copier/printers, CTP, platesetters, filmsetters, DI presses, and wide format inkjet printers. OneFlow 2.0 will be demonstrated at EFI's drupa stand (Hall 4, Stands B34/B40) with third-party vendor solutions, as well as EFI Hagen(TM) OA print MIS software and EFI Exchange(TM) Internet job submission system.
