Taylor Bloxham Group receives 18001 Health and Safety Accreditation

Press release from the issuing company

Taylor Bloxham Group has received 18001 Health and Safety Accreditation from URS Certification.  The group is made up of Taylor Bloxham, FastAnt Direct and Instore. It is the first accreditation received at group level.

The 18001 Health and Safety accreditation is a great achievement for the Taylor Bloxham group, demonstrating its efficiency and consistency in injury prevention by defining clear employee responsibilities. Ensuring employee safety is the first and main priority for The Taylor Bloxham Group. It also ensures the safety and cleanliness of the premises as a fundamental for the working environment. The Group implemented the importance of Health and Safety as a concern for all employees and it is this ethos that ensured the effective fulfillment of the OHSAS 18001 system.

For the OHSAS18001 to be achieved it required a unanimous effort across the Group and therefore each of the three sites had a representative to monitor the success of the management system. Fundamentals in particular were put in place for housekeeping, machinery, chemicals and the appropriate use of PPE.

Chris Bowen, Taylor Bloxham Group CEO, describes the importance of Health and Safety to the Group and what achieving OHSAS 18001 accreditation means,

‘We have always held the health and safety of our staff as the number one priority in the company and are proud of our health and safety record. Gaining this accreditation is formal recognition that we have world class processes and procedures in play and perfectly complements our ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental accreditations.’

Louise Wilby, HR Manager and Health and Safety Officer for the Group, said ‘I welcomed the opportunity to coordinate the implementation of the 18001 system knowing that I had an enthusiastic and capable team of managers to work alongside.  Through engagement of the entire workforce, it clearly demonstrates what true team-working can achieve.’

This accreditation reflects on the positive environment and working ethos of the Group, demonstrating how everyone can have an impact on Health and Safety in the working environment and for the Group this shows their excellence in delivering policies and procedures designed to maximise the awareness and implementation of safety in the workplace.
