GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, today announced that it will be participating in ICC DevCon 2014, scheduled for Monday, November 3rd, at Harvard University. Principle Software Engineer James Vogh, a respect industry veteran and color science expert, will be a featured speaker at the conference.

“We are proud that the ICC has selected Mr. Vogh to speak at this important conference,” said Martin Beyer, Vice-President of Software Development at X-Rite. “X-Rite and Pantone are synonymous with color, and we will have a number of new and important color-related developments to share with the group as it explores the impact of the ICC’s extensive iccMAX project.”

In addition to Mr Vogh, X-Rite will have other color experts on hand to discuss color issues, concerns and ideas with attendees, and will be showcasing a variety of solutions designed to enhance the measurement, management and communication of color.

Solutions to be featured at the conference include:

  • PantoneLIVE, a cloud-based ecosystem of X-Rite, Pantone and third-party solutions for the storage and communication of approved spectral values for brand and Pantone colors.  Spectral values are adjusted to ensure accurate color production for each substrate, ink and printing technology used.
  • Next-generation 45/0 and sphere spectrophotometers, including  X-Rite eXact, a 45/0 spectrophotometer that enables companies to truly understand, control, manage and communicate color across the entire color network to avoid unwanted reprint and rework.
  • ColorCert: X-Rite Edition, to close the loop for exceptional color management, from customer file all the way through production. ColorCert delivers statistical process control for defining, monitoring and communicating production quality, across the plant or around the globe.

X-Rite/Pantone experts will be available to discuss a host of other solutions available from the company.

“While each of these ICC-compliant solutions stands on its own and adds value to a color workflow,” Beyer adds, “combined they are a force multiplier. In today’s highly competitive and demanding marketplace, innovation in color measurement, management and communication will go a long way toward increasing profitability throughout the entire supply chain.”
