Aleyant Continues Aggressive Alliance Strategy with PrintMatics Integration

Press release from the issuing company

Pressero Storefront Provides eCommerce Platform for Wide Format Printing Market

Wheaton, Illinois. Aleyant Systems, an innovative leader in providing robust web-to-print software solutions to the graphic communications industry at value-driven prices, today announced that it has completed the integration of its Pressero web-to-print storefront solution with Cloud 7 Systems’ PrintMatics, a print MIS solution for the wide format industry, using Aleyant’s Automated Workflow Integrator (AWI).

“We are extremely pleased to be able to support the wide format industry in this manner,” said Greg Salzman, President of Aleyant Systems. “Cloud 7 Systems has two decades of demonstrated success in the photo industry and is now bringing its talents and expertise to wide format. Our integration will help sign & display graphics businesses better address customer needs with an end-to-end order entry/MIS implementation that is designed to specifically meet the needs of their unique market.”

With this integration, orders can be placed through a Pressero storefront, which then passes appropriate XML to PrintMatics via a hot folder to create the job in the PrintMatics system. The job can then be automatically scheduled for production, shipping and invoicing. For fixed-price items, pricing pushed to PrintMatics from Pressero can be validated against PrintMatics pricing tables, ensuring that accurate pricing for those items is maintained.  “A more robust pricing integration is in the works,” added Salzman. “This will include the bidirectional exchange of pricing information for fixed-price and cost-based items between Pressero and PrintMatics, eliminating the need to create multiple pricing tables for this type of work and offering customers real-time pricing feedback within the storefront.”

“Cloud 7 Systems is the de facto standard MIS in the world of photo processing,” added Alex Ravari, Vice President of Cloud 7 Systems. “Many of those customers are processing as many as 5,000 jobs per day through our robust system.  While we don’t expect most sign & display graphics businesses to have that level of order activity, it certainly demonstrates that PrintMatics is capable of handling their demands as they grow. By adding a fully functional storefront to our offering, we are now able to meet a broader range of needs for these businesses. Clearly, the way of the world today is online ordering, and we wanted to be able to accommodate that need. The Pressero integration accomplishes that goal.”

PrintMatics is deployed in a hybrid model, with a browser-based client/server component for management reporting, which can be operated either in the cloud or on-site on the customer’s server. This means that information can be accessed from anywhere, and offers the convenience and familiarity of a desktop application even when using it from the cloud.

Pressero Web-to-Print

Pressero from Aleyant Systems is an affordable and easy-to-use cloud-based B2B and B2C online storefront solution that can quickly and easily be customized to individual client needs. Because it is delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), it has a pay-as-you-go model that involves limited up-front costs. Pressero includes eDocBuilder, a web-based variable data publishing system built specifically to easily integrate into Aleyant or third-party web-to-print or MIS solutions. It features advanced typography control, imposition, scripting support, PDF workflows, rapid template creation, Excel merge capabilities and more. Aleyant's Automated Workflow Integrator (AWI) makes online operations as streamlined and affordable as possible, and AWI is a critical enabler for achieving this goal. Examples of applications for AWI's rules-based approach include automating processes for file renaming for workflows that have strict file naming conventions, automatically unzipping zipped files, or sending files and metadata directly to a RIP for processing, eliminating multiple steps in the workflow.
