Dave Blais Honored as 2014 Gravure Person of the Year

Gravure Association of the Americas Recognizes Executive’s Influence, Contributions and Impact to Advancing the Gravure Printing Industry 

SUSSEX, WI - Quad/Graphics, Inc., today announced that Dave Blais, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Platform Strategy, is being honored as a 2014 Gravure Person of the Year by the Gravure Association of the Americas (GAA), a trade association that facilitates collaborative partnerships among gravure professionals. The prestigious printing industry award recognizes Blais' many contributions to the advancement of the gravure industry including his long-standing support of education and training for future print industry leaders.

"Dave is an exceptional individual who has built a career of impact and importance in the Quad/Graphics organization," said Jim Sheibley, President of the Gravure Educational Foundation, an organization associated with the GAA that is committed to advancing the industry through the development of both people and technology. "Quad/Graphics, as a company, continues to advance the science of gravure and believes in its ability to build readership and sell products in publication gravure. Dave continues to be an advocate for gravure through his leadership contributions and by educating the next generation of printers."

With a print career that spans nearly 30 years, Blais has been an active member of the Board of Directors for the Gravure Association of the Americas (GAA) and the Board of Trustees for the Gravure Educational Foundation for more than 10 years. His visionary leadership and reputation for innovative thinking is respected and admired throughout the industry.

As Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Platform Strategy, Blais has been instrumental in building Quad/Graphics' premier manufacturing platform, including the company's entrance into gravure printing in 1986. The company's gravure printing clientele includes leading publication, retail insert and catalog clients.
