MPress Doubles Capacity with Purchase of Komori LSX29

Press release from the issuing company

New Six-color Komori Lithrone Press Drives Higher Productivity

Rolling Meadows, ILKomori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of printing presses, today announced that MPress, one of the largest full-service commercial printers in New Orleans, recently installed its first Komori press. To accommodate its growing business with quicker turnaround times, MPress chose the 29-inch six-color Komori Lithrone SX29 (LSX629). The LSX629 is the largest half size press Komori offers, answering the growing demand for a press that maximizes the sheet and provides impressively fast job cycle times. With the advanced automated features of the LSX629, MPress reports it has increased its productivity by more than 50 percent. The LSX629 also supports the company’s MPress Xpress division that provides literature fulfillment services and franchise collateral management solutions.

“The automation on the LSX629 is unbelievable. I am so impressed with the speed,” said Ashley Abbott, CEO of MPress. “This press offers a fully automated makeready, including plate hanging and registration, which allows us to quickly change from job to job. Prior to running the LSX629, we used to complete three to five jobs in a timeframe. We now can get out six to ten in the same amount of time. I know that having the benefit of this type of speed is how you make your money. Faster run speeds means less time on press, and with today’s shorter delivery times, that is a benefit we’re able to pass on to the customer. Additionally, the quality of printing on this new press is exceptional.”

“We are thrilled that the LSX629 is helping MPress achieve a higher level of efficiency for the company and its customers,” said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice-president of sales of Komori America. “It’s the ideal press for printers who do short run, fast turnaround work and for those in the highly competitive web-to-print market like MPress.”
