Colter & Peterson to debut new Microcut® systems at Graphics of the Americas

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Graphics of the Americas is billed as the place to be to discover new opportunities with features to help grow one’s business.  For Microcut/Colter & Peterson (booth 582), that’s an accurate and fitting description.  North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment will introduce and demonstrate two new and two popular Microcut® retrofit kit systems at the show, being held February 27 - March 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Joining the proven and reliable Microcut PLUS WS and Microcut JR will be Microcut COLOR WS and Microtrack II.  The highly efficient and automated backgauge control system is adaptable to any brand or size paper cutter from 20-150 inches, and its huge success can be measured by the 30,000-plus installations worldwide.  It also comes as a standard feature on C&P’s widely acclaimed Prism® and Saber® brand lines of paper cutters.

Richard Peereboom, C&P’s Sales Manager for Latin America, says Microcut users experience significant benefits that many Central and South American visitors to GOA can take advantage of.

“Microcut produces results for a fraction of the cost of a new machine, and there are thousands of older paper cutters in the Latin American market that can benefit from this automated programmable system.  It boosts productivity by as much as 50% or more for machines that currently are not programmable and accurately cuts to smaller sizes.  This gives shops greater options to do other types of work and attract more business,” said Peereboom.

“People who visit our booth will be able to purchase these four Microcut systems at a discounted price.  These systems are for any size shop in any market, and we have sold units off the floor at GOA in the past and those people are using it the next week.  Perhaps that is why we always get a good turnout in Miami Beach.”

Each Microcut system memorizes the cutting sequences instantly; that way the backgauge automatically positions itself for each individual cut.  The new Microcut COLOR WS guides correct position movement faster and more accurately with computer-controlled precision.  An operator will find the 8” wide format touch screen display easy to use for fast and simple set up.

The new Microtrack II is a digital display and programming guide that increases the accuracy and productivity of manually operated paper cutters.  This cost-effective microprocessor based unit features Manual, Program and Automatic modes that provide visual alerts to make the operator aware of when the backgauge is properly positioned.

Microcut PLUS offers a 12” wide format touch screen and includes the unique microcip® and microfacts® features.  Programs can be uploaded from a network connection with a USB device using CIP ¾ files, and no additional hardware or software is necessary.  Microcut JR is ideal for paper cutters up to 37” in size and provides 2000 cut locations.
