CSW Helps Corrugated Converters Lose Plate Weight

Press release from the issuing company

Ludlow, MA - CSW, Inc. has developed an integrated liquid photopolymer plate that is safer to handle and easier to set up for flexographic printers. The FLEX LT™ integrated mount uses a modified in-position plate, available in any thickness. Image areas are processed “in position” on a backing sheet, then individually mounted to a carrier.

CSW’s new process reduces the amount of floor in non-image areas, which can make a FLEX LT™ mount up to 70% lighter than conventional flexo plate mounts. Corrugated converters will benefit from faster set-up and run times because FLEX LT™ plates are easier to handle and less likely to cause on-press vibration. CSW Printing Plate Division Supervisor Mark Buchanan notes, “These mounts maintain flexibility for copy changes, since new graphics can be demounted and slugged in very easily.” Like all of CSW’s liquid photopolymer plates, FLEX LT™ plates do not use solvent, and any unexposed polymer is reclaimed, distilled and recycled.
