Lowe-Martin Wins Gold for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada

Press release from the issuing company

TORONTO, ONTARIO - The Lowe-Martin Group - Canada's premier print and communication services provider since 1908 - was presented with the GOLD AWARD for "Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada" at the prestigious Canadian Printing Awards, held in Toronto. Lowe-Martin also garnered 3 Gold awards, 2 Silver awards and 2 Bronze awards for specific projects.

These awards were presented by PrintAction Magazine at a gala attended by industry leaders gathered in Toronto for the Graphics Canada tradeshow. The awards show was hosted by noted journalist Heather Hiscox.

Environmental sustainability is a cornerstone of the Lowe-Martin corporate philosophy. Ward Griffin, President and CEO, said, "We continue the process we have followed for over 25 years of being conscious of the environmental impact of our company and the products we manufacture, and seeking ways to reduce this impact. We take a holistic approach to sustainability, focusing on Climate Change, Sustainable Forestry, Resource Management, and Waste Management. We know that our company's long-term well being is tied as closely to the health of our environment as it is to the health of our economy."

Recently, the Lowe-Martin Group added one of the largest magazine printing companies in Canada to the Group. "Through a business acquisition done in 2012 we have taken on a product line that is more resource heavy with its use of paper and natural gas than our other lines of business. We look forward to the challenge of lessening the environmental impact of these products and integrating them into our future environmental strategies. As a successful and growing business there is great opportunity to work with our customers and suppliers to help protect the environment," said Mr. Griffin.

Headquartered in Ottawa with additional facilities in Mississauga, the Lowe-Martin Group provides innovative, integrated and progressive communication solutions that span a range of products and services including: web offset, sheetfed offset, lenticular, digital, direct mail, large format and security printing; extensive in-house pre-press and bindery services; e-business solutions; and warehousing and logistics. The Group's focus on superior service, extraordinary performance and sustainable growth has gained them recognition as one of North America's premier print providers.
