Lexington, Kentucky USA - WhatTheyThink today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Best Practices for Web-to-Print Implementation will be moderated by WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne and feature three web-to-print users: a commercial printer, an in-plant printer and a marketing services company. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4th, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST (-5 GMT) and is sponsored by PTI Marketing Technologies (formerly Printable Technologies). This is Part Two of a Two-Part series.  Part One, available for replay in WhatTheyThink’s webinar archive, covered best practices for selection of web-to-print solutions. Session attendees will be able to download an informative WhatTheyThink white paper, written by Sherburne and entitled Maintaining an Exceptional Customer Web Experience: A Challenge of Amazonian Proportions.

No-charge registration is available by visiting WhatTheyThink.com and selecting the Webinars tab.

“Implementing web-to-print takes a great deal of forethought,” said Sherburne. “And effectively selling the web-to-print experience is much different than simply selling print. We are excited to have representatives from three very different organizations in this discussion to provide a well-rounded view of implementation and sales best practices.”

Sherburne will be joined by:

Timothy C. Dust, President, F.P. Horak. Dust is currently responsible for management of daily operations, personnel development sales growth and the implementation of F.P. Horak’s vision. In 1982, Tim graduated from Michigan State University and began his printing career with UARCO, Incorporated, Barrington, IL.  Tim started working at F.P. Horak as a direct sales representative in 1987.  In 1990, he was promoted to General Sales Manager and in 1995, promoted to his current position of President.

Les Barker, Senior Information Officer, World Bank. Barker has been a staff member at the World Bank for more than 30 years. He started out as a Cartographer (mapmaker) using traditional print technology and has been an active participant and champion of digital print technology, content management and deployment. In his role as a Senior Information Officer, he is responsible for managing and supporting the information technology infrastructure for the Printing and Multimedia Services Division of the World Bank.

Dwight Darling, President & CEO, Pinnacle. Darling started Pinnacle more than 15 years ago as a proof-of-concept company for emerging web-to-print technologies. He was one of the original founders of Collabria, an early pioneer of web-based technology for the graphic arts industry.  He has been involved in the graphic arts industry for more than 35 years.  Darling has an undergraduate degree from San Jose State University and a graduate degree from Duke University.

“We continue to talk about the importance of web-to-print within the printing industry,” said Randy Davidson, CEO of WhatTheyThink, “and webinars on this topic continue to be one of our most popular. We appreciate PTI’s generosity in sponsoring this important webinar series, making it available to our viewers at no charge.

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
