Schawk Names Christopher Splan VP of Business Development, Graphic Services

DES PLAINES, Ill.--Nov. 17, 2003-- Schawk, Inc., the world's leading provider of digital imaging prepress solutions to the consumer products packaging and advertising and promotions markets, announced that it has named Christopher Splan to the newly created post of Vice President of Business Development, Graphic Services. The new post was created in response to the Company's focus on delivering comprehensive, integrated graphics solutions to its clients; including graphics consulting services, creative retouching, high-end photography and large-format digital printing. The Graphic Services group, a network of capabilities that comprise Schawk's single largest core competency, represents a depth and breadth of intellectual and technical graphics expertise that spans 50 years and is leveraged by the Company's other two core competency groups -- Enterprise Products and Brand Consulting & Design. Effective immediately, Splan will assume responsibility for managing the business development activities of the Company's Graphic Services group. In this capacity, Splan reports directly to Schawk President and CEO, David A. Schawk, and will be based at the Company's global headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois. Schawk commented, "Chris's background in sales performance management, his qualifications and his related industry experience make him a valuable asset to the current and future growth of Schawk. Splan most recently served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Walle Corporation, a top five multi-site flexible packaging organization, specializing in label manufacturing and printing, serving premier North American Fortune 100 companies. Prior to his tenure at Walle, he held the position of Vice President of Sales for LaGasse Brothers, Inc., a wholesale distributor of foodservices, industrial, healthcare, and paper products. Splan began his career at Procter & Gamble. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Missouri and resides in the Chicago area with his wife and three children.
