Australian News Corporation Places Order for Baldwin Impact Systems

Press release from the issuing company

SHELTON, Conn.--Nov. 17, 2003-- Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. announced today that Queensland Newspapers, part of Australian News Corporation Limited is the latest News company to order IMPACT Global automatic blanket cylinder cleaning systems from Baldwin. The order follows the installation of IMPACT Global blanket cleaners on six upgraded MAN Newsman 40 presses at News Limited's Westgate Park print site in late 2002. The blanket cleaning equipment will be retrofitted onto existing MAN Roland Newsman double-width presses at the QNP's Brisbane site. The four presses are configured in one continuous press line requiring a total of 88 IMPACT Global units. Comments Peter Tkachuk, SSU Director of Baldwin Graphic Equipment: "QNP was looking to increase efficiency by further automation of the press lines and to meet increasingly stringent Australian health & safety and environmental guidelines." News Limited Group is also currently installing Baldwin's IMPACT Global cleaning and LithoSpray(TM) spray dampening systems at the Gold Coast Bulletin in Southport, Queensland. The order consists of IMPACT Global and LithoSpray(TM) systems for the KBA nine-tower Comet press installation.
