Agfa Announces Workflow Support and Technology Contracts For :ApogeeX Users

Press release from the issuing company

Mortsel, Belgium – 7 November 2003 – Agfa today announced two optional contracts for :ApogeeX customers in North America and Europe that will provide continuous upgrades and unlimited support from Agfa experts. :ApogeeX, a PDF-based workflow management system, is constantly expanding with new and innovative features. The Technology Contract ensures that customer workflow is on the cutting edge of technology, while the Workflow Support Contract allows Agfa experts to “log in” and fix workflow related problems. The three-year, renewable contracts allow users to invest in the future of their workflow at a one-time cost. “With the Workflow Support Contract and the Technology Contract, Agfa offers :ApogeeX users very attractive conditions for the growth and support of their workflow management software,” said Johan Berlaen, general manager of Digital Solutions at Agfa, “We want to maintain our trusted partnerships with our customers to bring them the latest technology with exceptional support.” The Workflow Support Contract offers direct remote support for all applications in the :ApogeeX workflow through online system monitoring and rapid troubleshooting. Customers can call the technical helpdesk free of charge during working hours, and can also send problem files for Agfa experts to examine and test. They also receive a bi-monthly newsletter that includes information on workflow management subjects such as PDF, JDF, proofing and colour management. An extended version of the contract permits access to support services until 1 o’clock in the morning local time. The Workflow Support Contract requires users to have a fast Internet connection (ADSL/TDSL), secured by a firewall. Agfa experts can then connect to the :ApogeeX system, with the customer’s permission, to provide real-time support. The contract increases system availability for :ApogeeX users by making system errors and outages less frequent. The Agfa Technology Contract enables Apogee Series3 users to upgrade their workflow management system to the latest :ApogeeX version. It builds on the Workflow Support Contract, offering free upgrades for all :ApogeeX software components released during the period of the contract, with at least one major upgrade per year. :ApogeeX users will be upgraded with the latest interfaces for all the applications and data formats commonly used in the graphics industry allowing for a greater return on investment. The Technology Contract also offers special conditions for adding extra options and functions to the :ApogeeX workflow. The contract runs for a period of three years, after which it is automatically extended year by year unless the customer cancels it.
