Press release from the issuing company

manroland web systems will present clear solutions for these topics in the German capital of Berlin at the 2013 World Publishing Expo (October 7-9, 2013, Booth Number 2.2.310). The world market leader in web offset printing will provide its customers with innovative products and service solutions to increase overall press productivity and profitability.

Newspapers: automation and flexibility
manroland web systems has successfully booked two orders from Germany for the new COLORMAN e;line press recently. The first press was installed at Allgäuer Zeitungsverlag in Kempten and is successfully producing up to eight products daily under high speed production environments. The radically designed press has also won the prestigious Red Dot Award for its innovative design since the formal launch of the press by manroland web systems at drupa 2012. The COLORMAN e:line is a highly flexible and modular press that allows customers to select the necessary upgrades and retrofits with a wide range of choices  in production possibilities, speed, and commercial packages. The press is also equipped with the new operating concept from manroland web systems, including touchscreen navigation and the MobilPad for remote press operation. manroland web systems has booked double digit orders for the innovative press console across the world in less than 18 months since the product launch.

Taking further the modular concept, manroland web systems will launch a new version of the highly flexible CROMOMAN 4-1 press, already a big success story in India, with two successful installations at The Times of India, Kolkata and Pune. The CROMOMAN 4-1 is the most flexible double width press in the world with the smallest machine footprint therefore significantly reducing the capital expenditure on press buildings.

printservices: service secures future
manroland web systems believes that service products are the cornerstone of every printer’s success in the long term. With a product range including press.update, classic.service, and print.competence, manroland web systems is working to secure its customers’ futures by becoming a proactive provider and consultant for all areas of printing. Genuine spare parts and troubleshooting are always handled reliably, and at the 2013 World Publishing Expo, manroland web systems will showcase many new and innovative service products that can extend the lifetime of the existing presses and also generate new business potential for publishers. One example is the three-around retrofit, which can be used to achieve a smaller newspaper format and a higher number of copies utilizing the same press, without the need for expensive and time consuming width reductions. With this upgrade, the newspaper press can produce up to 50 % more copies per hour in non-collect runs.  The Integrated Inkjet solution from manroland web systems has also been very well received from customers and the company has booked several new orders from leading publishing houses recently. The solution combines the variable printing advantage of inkjet heads with the conventional offset production at full printing speed.

Digital newspaper and book printing
Personalized copies, short run newspaper printing and on-demand book printing are interesting topics for publishers in current times with focus on reduced inventory costs and low volume production requirements. manroland web systems with its long expertise in web technology is the first manufacturer to launch industrial digital finishing solutions for high speed digital inkjet newspapers and book printing. The company has booked a huge order from Asia for its FormerLine solution for book printing and another order for its newspaper finishing solution from Europe. These solutions will also be highlighted by manroland web systems at the show in Berlin.
