DMA Issues Action Alert on Do Not Email List

Press release from the issuing company

November 7, 2003 – The Direct Marketing Association (The DMA) has issued an action alert to all its members on the new “Do Not E-mail” bill now pending in Congress. Members are urged to write and call their US Congressional representatives and tell them that Senator Charles Schumer's (D-NY) "Do Not E-mail" amendment will not stop spam and will punish legitimate marketers. Members are also urged to tell their representatives about their support for the Burns/Wyden CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. The DMA has set up a grassroots Web site that makes it quick and simple to send a letter to elected officials. Members are urged to note that the sample letter is editable, so they should feel free to make any changes appropriate for their organization. To access the alert and send an e-mail to their congressional representatives, members can visit http://capwiz.com/aim/issues/alert/?alertid=4013391&type=ML
