Masterwork USA Extends Reach into Latin America at Expografica Trade Show

Press release from the issuing company

Attendees swarmed to see fully-automatic, high speed, high precision sheet inspection system on the show floor

Masterwork USA, a leading manufacturer of folding carton and packaging equipment headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is extending its reach into Latin America by attending Expografica, the most complete graphic arts trade show in Mexico and Latin America. Held at the Expo Guadalajara Avenue in Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico) from May 22-25, 2013, Masterwork teamed with Manroland Latina SA de CV and brought its 420Q fully-automatic, high speed, high precision sheet inspection machine, which was ultimately sold to an attendee, and generated enthusiasm among the throngs with a busy booth.

“Our booth was consistently busy because we were the only manufacturer to bring a new highly-automated sheet inspection machine to the show,” says Carol Jiang, Vice President, Masterwork USA. “Our new MK 420Q high-speed, high precision sheet inspection system was a hit with attendees. We were able to demonstrate that our new technology removes the cumbersome human inspection process with its inefficiency and inaccuracy and allows the 420Q’s high-speed CCD camera to detect the slightest deviations from the standard sample. Everyone was talking about our equipment because we brought something new that no one else had. We’re very proud that our booth machine was sold to an attendee and we are excited to take more orders from this growing market.”

“We are pleased to partner with Masterwork and work together to represent our equipment at this important trade show,” says Erick Yllescas, CEO of Manroland Latina SA de CV. “We believe that our customers will benefit from Masterwork’s exceptional finishing equipment and we look forward to building a long-lasting business partnership between our two firms.”

The MK 420Q high-speed, high precision sheet inspection machine allows a graphic arts firm to increase production capacity, reduce costs, and carry out 100% on-line inspections throughout 24 hours of uninterrupted operation.  The 420Q has a highly-adjustable patented light source that can make meticulous and accurate adjustments according to the different printing processes, such as laser or holographic foil stamping. This light source, found only on MK machines, can filter the reflective light on the sheets to make the image clear and give the best detection results.

“Being able to provide a high quality printed job that exactly matches the original is mandatory in today’s competitive market,” says Jiang. “Our equipment allows a printer to perform this function in an efficient and economical manner. Customers today have printed jobs with bar codes, high-end images, and pharmaceutical language that needs to match each printed sheet. Our 420Q is a high performance print inspection system that is easy to operate and quickly pays for itself.”

Expográfica is internationally recognized as the most complete graphic arts trade show in Mexico and Latin America, as well as the largest in the Spanish-speaking market. In its 2013 edition it will be attracting top buyers by exhibiting the newest trends presented in Drupa's last edition: machinery and digital printing, offset, wide and large format, pre-press, films, plates, CTP equipment, color proofs, serigraphy, flexography, packaging, press, consumables, paper, substrates, inks, digital processes, finishing, technical services and much more.
