Highcon Euclid receives “Best Production Printing Finishing Device” EDP Award in ceremony at FESPA 2013

Press release from the issuing company

London, UK – Highcon is pleased to announce that its Highcon™ Euclid has been awarded the “Best Production Printing Finishing Device” in the Annual Awards from the European Digital Press Association (EDP) for quality and innovation in technologies for the digital printing industry.

The Highcon Euclid is the first fully digital cutting and creasing machine for folding carton converting and offers users savings of time and money by eliminating the die-making process. The Euclid incorporates Highcon’s patent-pending ‘DART’ (Digital Adhesive Rule Technology) to produce creases and high-speed laser optics to cut sheets up to 760mm X 1060mm (30” X 42”), that have been produced by any printing process.

Streamlining the finishing process offers carton converters the ability to meet demands for medium and short-run jobs cost-effectively with faster speed to market, enabling job change flexibility and faster reaction times to changing customer requirements.

The EDP Award was presented at ceremonies held during FESPA at ExCeL London, Wednesday (26 June) in the afternoon.

Accepting the award was Highcon VP Sales and Business Development, Chris Baker: “It’s exciting and rewarding for a product so recently being delivered to customers to be recognized in this way. It is a further acknowledgement that the vision and realization of the Euclid was sound and reflected market requirements.”

Daniel Broglie, Managing Director of Chromos AG, Highcon’s distribution partner in Switzerland who nominated the Highcon Euclid said “This is a break-through technology for a sector that has long needed the benefits of digital solutions. I hope many folding carton converters see this recognition and look at adopting it in their businesses.”

The European Digital Press Association has 20 member magazines; its annual awards attract the industry’s leading suppliers and winners are able to display a special logo to mark their achievements.
