Heidelberg Earns Top Product Honors in Quick Printing Magazine’s 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Kennesaw, Ga. - Heidelberg's Prinect Business Manager MIS solution and its flagship Speedmaster XL 106 have been selected as Top Products in Quick Printing magazine's 2013 Readers' Choice Top Product Awards competition, conducted earlier this year.
Heidelberg's Prinect Business Manager (PBM) supports all steps from estimating through job handling to invoicing and follow-up job costing, enabling companies to structure their administration and sales more efficiently and to optimize their processes. PBM requests production specific details and guides the user through the costing process. It offers networked communication among all areas from prepress to press to postpress, forming the core of a standardized database.

"Recognition by the readers of Quick Printing magazine offers further proof of the value and staying power of the Prinect Business Manager MIS," said Ray Cassino, Director Product Management Prinect & CtP at Heidelberg USA. "Accurate estimating is the bedrock of any successful printing company. Prinect Business Manager delivers that and much more, with automated features that enable faster job processing, in addition to reducing the costs and downtime associated with missing materials."

The Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 operates at speeds up to 18,000 sph in both straight and perfecting modes. It processes substrates up to 0.039 inch thick in straight mode and up to 0.031 inch thick in perfecting mode. The 29.53x41.73-inch sheet format provides a maximum print format of 29.13x41.34 inches. The press features ink presettings, simultaneous plate changing with AutoPlate XL, and Prinect Inpress Control inline color and register control. It also can be fitted with an integrated inkjet device.

"Introduced at drupa 2012, the Speedmaster XL 106 has set definitive new benchmarks in production speed, print stability, and output," said Clarence Penge, Vice President Sheetfed Product Management at Heidelberg USA. "A fast-growing installed base both here and abroad confirms the industry's appetite for ultra-efficient press technologies that can open up new opportunities and help printers maintain a competitive edge. Readers of Quick Printing magazine clearly recognize a good thing when they see it."

The 2013 Quick Printing Readers' Choice Top Products Awards recognize breakthrough products that have caused the most excitement in the industry and have proven themselves to be valuable assets to commercial printing businesses over the last year. The contest covered 21 categories, from digital color printers and offset presses to finishing equipment, inks, software, prepress, and mailing products introduced to the commercial printing industry between Sept. 1, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2012. Only one winner was chosen from within each category.
