Enfocus Connect YOU helps designers to create, verify and deliver high-quality PDFs with ease

Ghent, Belgium – Enfocus, the leader in automation and creator of the PDF preflight and editing standard, PitStop Pro, announced Connect YOU, part of the all-new Connect 11 product line. Enfocus Connect YOU is the single-user member of the family, aimed at designers and other creators who need perfect PDF creation and quality control together with hassle-free file delivery for professional output. Connect YOU will be available in the 3rd quarter, 2013.

Quality in one-click reach

Creating a PDF from most applications is not a huge challenge but ensuring that it is a press-ready PDF for professional output still is. Connect YOU helps designers to deliver high-quality printable jobs right the first time, without having to worry about settings and technical requirements. This saves valuable time and helps to avoid costly mistakes.

Connect YOU works by generating small customizable applets called Connectors, which offer simple one-click of drag and drop functionality. Connectors can be accessed through a new “Export as Certified PDF” option within Adobe® InDesign® or Illustrator®CS5/6, or via a named printer driver in any other application, for instance CorelDRAW® or Microsoft Publisher.

Connectors have all the necessary settings contained within them. If the full range of functions is implemented, then a single click can generate a PDF to the desired settings, which is then preflighted, automatically corrected where needed, and then automatically uploaded to a production site together with an electronic job ticket. Alternatively a smaller subset of features can be specified, such as just uploading job files and tickets. Any number of Connectors can be generated by Connect YOU with different settings and different upload targets where needed.

Key features are:

  • One-click perfect PDF creation from any application via a virtual print driver, or via Adobe® Creative Suite® 5/6 plug-ins
  • Adobe® Normalizer technology built into the Connector ensures perfect PDF compatibility, with no need for Adobe® Acrobat®
  • Automatic PDF correction and enhancement based on Enfocus PitStop Action Lists
  • PDF verification using Enfocus PitStop Preflight Profiles
  • Custom job ticket generation to help automate downstream processes
  • Secure, completely automatic delivery of PDF or any other file type by (S)FTP, HTTP, email, directly into an Enfocus Switch automated workflow

Connectors created with Connect work with the latest Adobe® Creative Suite® 5 and 6, and run on current operating systems up to Windows 7/8 and Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

A range of pre-settings is supplied so Connectors can be used “out of the box,” or if required they can easily be customized. They can be set up to provide all of the PDF generation, checking and upload features available, or just a small sub-set such as perhaps file uploading. If needed they can be set up by skilled professionals and then handed over to users without specialized knowledge.

Connect YOU part of the Connect 11 family

Announced at the same time as Connect YOU is Connect ALL, the other application within the Enfocus Connect 11 family. This is intended for print service providers as well as publishers and creative organizations. Connect ALL generates an unlimited number of Connectors that print service producers can supply to their outside clients. Alternatively, production and IT managers within larger design studios, ad agencies or publishers, can create Connectors and distribute them to individuals within the organization.
