K-1 Packaging Group to Consolidate Packaging and Label Workflows with EFI Radius ERP

Press release from the issuing company

FOSTER CITY, California – EFI™, a world leader in customer-focused packaging and digital printing innovation, announced that K-1 Packaging Group will replace two MIS/ERP systems with EFI Radius for its packaging and label operations in City of Industry, California. The partnership with EFI will allow K-1 to strengthen its focus on efficiency and accelerated customer service for its consumer product customers.

The installation will consolidate different product workflows, processes and information currently confined to separate management systems, boosting K-1 Packaging’s operational efficiency. Many K-1 customers purchase some combination of folding cartons, labels and flexible packaging and the mix of products creates a number of repetitive, manual processes that come with running multiple, disparate systems.

K-1 Packaging President Mike Tsai sees the benefits of a tightly integrated system that can accommodate all of K-1’s production processes and minimize cumbersome system workarounds. “EFI Radius is designed specifically for packaging workflows and will make our entire management process cleaner and more streamlined,” he said. “It’s going to allow us to capitalize on the huge opportunity we have to become a tighter, more knowledgeable organization.”

Tsai knew that K-1 would need to make a move to a new system within the next few years, but realized that now was the right time for the upgrade. “If you look a few years down the road, we could either be looking for a new system, or using the data we have collected with our new system to analyze trends and make proactive changes to improve our business,” Tsai said. “When it comes to a system like this, there is no benefit to delaying the inevitable.”

K-1’s commitment to its partnership with EFI is a long-term decision. “Working with EFI gives us reassurance that we will have access to support when we need it,” said Tsai. “EFI is clearly the most significant developer for the print and packaging industry and offers stability and a solid track record; EFI was the apparent choice.”

Innovative firms like K-1 Packaging cannot stall their growth opportunities because of disconnected workflows,” said David Taylor, general manager of EFI Radius. “This is a company that knows how to provide a total packaging solution to its customers and, with Radius, it will now have a powerful, consolidated ERP workflow that handles folding cartons, labels and flexible packaging in one system.”

EFI Radius is part of EFI’s complete end-to-end workflow and production portfolio, which also includes eCommerce and web to print solutions, digital front ends and digital inkjet printers.
