Xitron Announces 3,000 Screen CtP Interfaces Sold

Press release from the issuing company

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Xitron, the leading commercial developer of Harlequin RIPs and workflows for the printing industry, today announced a milestone in sales of their popular Screen CtP interface kit. TeamEPS, a longtime Xitron partner, recently installed the 3000th Screen interface at The Clermont Sun in Batavia, Ohio.

“TeamEPS is proud to have been involved in such a high-profile installation,” said Greg Meyerratken, President of TeamEPS. “We’ve sold, installed and trained plenty of Xitron’s Screen RIP and Raster Blaster TIFF Catchers with our refurbished Screen CTP devices, but we had no idea Xitron was near 3,000 worldwide.”

Tony Adams, Vice President of The Clermont Sun was also happy to hear the news. To mark the occasion, Xitron surprised them with a free two-year support agreement that includes software technical support and hardware coverage valued at $3,000. “We initially chose the system because of the economic value it offered. Through timing and a little bit of luck, it paid off even better than we had expected,” said Tony.

“This is really a reflection of Xitron’s world-class engineering,” said Karen Crews, President of Xitron. “We built a cost-effective product that can extend the life of most every Screen CtP device ever sold, anywhere in the world. We also made it possible for the used equipment market to outfit reconditioned PT-R’s with state-of-the-art RIPs and workflows, providing great value and functionality to the secondary markets.”

Xitron’s implementation is unlike any other CtP interface. Since it communicates through the PC’s USB 2.0 port, it’s not necessary to special order platforms that conform to a particular PCI slot specification in order to drive the CtP device. This greatly expands the user’s selection of platforms for RIPs and prepress workflow software while making the process less complicated.

For more information about upgrading to a Xitron workflow solution visit Xitron on the web at www.xitron.com/screenctp.  Xitron offers prepress and pressroom workflow solutions through its network of OEMs, distributors, dealers, and system integrators worldwide.

Xitron USB interfaces are available for most prepress imaging systems on the market today. Included in the list of supported devices are over 250 imagesetters, platesetters, and direct imaging presses from Screen, Agfa, Kodak, Presstek, AB Dick, Heidelberg, ECRM, Ryobi, and Fujifilm.
