Multifunctional Oce CS220 Delivers New Level of Digital Color to Offices and Workgroups

Press release from the issuing company

March 25, 2004—Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced the Océ CS220 color printer/copier, a 31 ppm color and black and white device for office and workgroup environments. As Océ continues to evolve its color offerings, the Océ CS220 further complements the Océ color portfolio with the ideal combination for the multiple applications of business users. “Businesses need the ability to generate more color documents internally for faster turnaround, reduced cost, better quality control and greater document security,” said Carl Joachim, vice president of marketing for Océ North America’s Digital Document Systems Division. “When digital systems are used in office or workgroup settings, they must also manage access by multiple users, as well as provide one system capable of handling the most applications. The Océ CS220 directly addresses these needs with the perfect balance of price, performance and quality.” The Océ CS220 meets the market need for affordable higher impact graphics, presentations and marketing materials as it builds more productivity and accountability into office printing processes. The Océ CS220 delivers vivid, versatile color for office, workgroup, print room, and graphics environments. Océ ColorWise tools help users better manage color settings and calibration without guesswork. The system’s integrated EFI controller with built-in Fiery software promotes smoother, faster processing. For Office Environments and Workgroups Office environments now have a cost-effective multifunctional resource for adding color to documents and enabling more productive digital workflow for enterprise users. For larger work group environments, the Océ CS220 command workstation enables better control for comprehensive queue and job management. Océ Webtools software lets users remotely manage jobs across the Internet or intranet for enterprises with multiple locations. Océ software tools provide the Océ CS220 with workflow and productivity capabilities that set it apart from other offerings on the market. Océ Netwise software lets users connect seamlessly to any network to enable digitized workflow, while Scan Workflow Support tools allow users to distribute hard copy color images to email, disk and fax. The Océ CS220 is designed to streamline document workflow with capabilities like scan to file, FTP and email distribution. Robust Paper Handling Boosts Workflow The system’s broad media support and ample capacity open more opportunities for a wider range of applications with just one system. Each Océ CS220 comes with two standard trays, plus the option of adding two additional trays or a high capacity stacker for fewer interruptions to workflow for various paper sizes. The system can also accommodate custom sizes, and users can automatically duplex without loss of paper capacity, while media up to 257 grams is supported as simplex output. Workflow Management Advantages For all their functionality, the Océ CS220 systems are easy to maintain and use. Office users can print directly with a standard Windows printer driver. To promote productivity without downtime, both print and copy jobs can be placed in the same flexible queue. Users can even scan copy jobs at the printer while the system is busy printing other documents. Multiple jobs are easy to track with job queue and management tools. Simple-to-replace toner cartridges reduce time spent on manual intervention. Modularity Provides Future-Proof Flexibility In line with Océ’s commitment to future-proof technology, the Océ CS220 offers a secure modular software and hardware growth path so capabilities can be added now or later. The modularity of the Océ CS220 gives users more choices for applications as well. Easy-to-install options enable a variety of configurations to cover many different customer requirements with one system and device footprint. Finishing choices can be expanded with a high-capacity stacker stapler, or a booklet maker to automatically sort, staple and fold. Features Promote Low Cost of Ownership Users can better control costs with the Océ CS220 through system management features for PIN-based access and usage accounting. The Océ CS220 is scheduled for availability in June.
