Press release from the issuing company
New capabilities include expanded variable data production options, larger sheet sizes and laser-safe letterhead and envelopes
MELBOURNE, Fla – Without a single offset press in their shop, Atlanta-based Presentech Advanced Print Solutions has relied on leading edge digital print technology to differentiate themselves from the competition. The addition of an MGI Meteor DP8700 XL multi-substrate digital press has expanded their product line to include new applications they never thought possible via digital production.
Established in 1990, Presentech offers their clients state-of-the-art, full color print technology with an emphasis on the highest level of customer service. From 35mm slide imaging and presentation graphics offered in their earlier days to custom variable data imaging and grand format printing today, Presentech has remained at the forefront of digital print technology.
As Presentech continued to expand their variable data printing business, they discovered that the unique complexity of their variable data files was becoming a challenge to produce on their current digital press. In addition, they were looking for larger press sheet to better respond to their client's most creative requests. These factors led them on a search for a high production digital press that could not only process and print multiple image and text variable fields from ten thousand or more records, but also allow them to offer enhanced services and capabilities. After a thorough investigation, Presentech decided on the MGI Meteor DP8700 XL from Paper Handling Solutions, Inc. (PHS), MGI's distribution partner for Georgia.
"We were amazed that the Meteor DP8700 XL could print a press sheet up to 40" long with the same ease as a standard 12x18" sheet," said David Midler, co-owner of Presentech. "Being able to offer short run and fast turnarounds of a larger sheet has allowed us to expand into new markets for oversized prints, such as book covers and multi-panel brochures."
"The print quality of the Meteor DP8700 XL is outstanding," added Presentech co-owner Joel Berger. "More importantly, we are seeing more consistent and uniform color than was possible on our prior production press. Large, dark solid fills, which have always been a challenge, are no longer a problem and the Meteor's dry toner is much more durable as well."
With their new Meteor DP8700 XL, Presentech is confident that they will continue to raise the bar for digital production, and they look forward to offering their customers new and profitable applications.
