FUJIFILM Upgrades Technology for Mitchell Graphics

Press release from the issuing company

Family-run Michigan-based Mitchell Graphics celebrates 40th anniversary with expanded business opportunities

Valhalla, N.Y., - Mitchell Graphics, Inc., a Michigan-based digital and traditional offset printer, recently upgraded its technology with help from Fujifilm's Graphic Systems Division. Mitchell Graphics incorporated the Xerox 770 Digital Color Press as its new digital printing platform, and ColorPath Verified color management software – tying color control into the offset side of the business as well. Additionally, Mitchell Graphics' sales team underwent a two-day business development training seminar -- conceived and led by Fujifilm –in order to learn how to more effectively tap into new business opportunities. In business since 1972, Mitchell Graphics offers print, direct mail, creative and fulfillment services; and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.

Prior to the new installations, Mitchell Graphics had outgrown the capabilities of its existing infrastructure and machines. The team needed to be able to print a wide array of products more quickly and of higher quality.

"After 40 years, we know our strengths and weaknesses, but Fujifilm helps us open up to new ways of doing business – new lines of revenue – so we can continue growing and remain successful," said Gary Fedus, president of Mitchell Graphics. "After looking at the various options, we chose to go with Fujifilm because it was a matter of trust. We know we will be taken care of. Personal experience tells us that when Fujifilm makes a commitment, the company stands behind it."

The new installation and software allows Mitchell Graphics to expand its business and offer a wider range of digital products due to the quality and stocks they can now print.

"We were already doing personalized digital printing, but were limited by capacity and quality control features. With the new press, we are better equipped to deliver both quality and volume," said Fedus. "We were also able to streamline our operations and become more efficient. The new equipment, software and training Fujifilm provided are going a long way to help us quickly respond to the ever-changing needs of the marketplace."

The Xerox 770 Digital Color Press provides new revenue opportunities and the ability to reduce costs. It's the first true production-capable printer that makes it easy to get started in digital production printing. The press delivers everything needed to capture share in the explosive growth in digital color printing – outstanding image quality, excellent performance, complete versatility, effortless productivity, day-in, day-out reliability.

"In the past, we were fulfilling certain specialized orders via trusted partners. We've now been able to keep that business in-house – positively impacting our service and enhancing profits," concluded Fedus.
