ePlus To Demo DigitalPaper XE at AIIM 2004 Conference

Press release from the issuing company

AIIM 2004 HERNDON, Va.--March 8, 2004-- ePlus inc. will be demonstrating its DigitalPaper XE solution for providing online access to large, complex, unstructured documents at the AIIM Conference on enterprise content and document management that opens today in New York. The system significantly reduces the time and expense involved in distributing engineering drawings, facilities diagrams, blueprints and technical manuals, with minimal deployment effort or infrastructure investment. With DigitalPaper XE, end users can both retrieve and annotate large documents via web browser to expedite requests for quotes (RFQs), engineering change notification (ECN), construction projects, manufacturing, equipment maintenance and repair, and more. Benefits include: -- Dramatic reductions in printing, storage and distribution costs, with no need to distribute physical or digital copies. -- Easy markup and annotation of drawings and other documents without affecting, copying, or downloading the original image. -- Easy version control, eliminating erroneous use of out-of-date drawings or documents. -- Reduction in project delays and penalties, because there is no need to wait for document updates. -- Fast deployment to users via the web in as little as four weeks, with no client software, plug-ins or applets required. Customers are using DigitalPaper XE for a wide variety of applications. For example: -- Sikorsky Aircraft is saving an estimated $2 million annually by enabling 7,000 employees to access engineering drawings and bills of material (BOMs) over the corporate intranet rather than via manual aperture card distribution. -- Ohio Department of Transportation is reducing the time and expense of the bid-letting process by using Digital Paper XE to make bids, related documentation and addenda notification available online. -- ASCO, the valve division of Emerson, has cut manufacturing lead times by two days and slashed up to 70% off time spent assembling and shipping specification packages to outsourcing partners by using DigitalPaper XE to automate the distribution of engineering change notifications and requests. -- Grove Worldwide, a construction equipment manufacturer, is shortening procurement cycles and gaining competitive advantage by enabling internal purchasing agents to reduce RFQ assembly and distribution from three weeks to minutes. DigitalPaper XE is part of the ePlus Enterprise Cost Management solution, which includes Procure+, an electronic procurement system, Content+, a content management system used to produce and maintain product content and electronic catalogs, and Manage+, an asset management solution. ePlus will be exhibiting in AIIM Booth #2542 at the Jacob Javits Center. ePlus, Procure+, Manage+, Content+, ePlus Enterprise Cost Management, and eECM are trademarks or registered trademarks of ePlus inc.
