Gestel Expands Implementation Of DiMS! To Boxmaking Division
Press release from the issuing company
Eindhoven and Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands – March 3, 2004 – 5 years of customer satisfaction and the objective of integrating its several plants under a single comprehensive system have led Gestel Holding company, supplier of qualitative high-end packaging material, to implement DiMS! Management Information Solution at its Boxmaking facility in Eindhoven. Already an avid DiMS! user at its main printing division, Gestel Printing, the company’s decision to expand its application of DiMS! to this business segment will bring the group under one system and increase its enterprise efficiency.
Gestel Printing and DiMS!
In 1998, Gestel Printing embarked on a search for a new MIS system – one that could suit their print-specific needs and was also Y2K compliant. Leaving nothing to chance, Gestel’s management drew up an extensive list of demands and requirements, and subsequently began to research software packages. The company ultimately decided on DiMS! based on the strength of its print-specific functionalities and integration capabilities. To this day, Gestel Printing is part of DiMS! organizing print’s prominent customer base.
Expansion of DiMS! to Gestel Boxmaking
From an integration point of view, Gestel Holding company realized that it was missing out on substantial synergies by not employing one software solution across its entire group. Because Gestel’s Printing division had already worked satisfactorily with DiMS! for years, the company quickly decided to leverage the strengths of the system at its Boxmaking division in Eindhoven. By using DiMS!’ Web-enabled functionalities, such as real-time sales and order entry, in addition to the range of administrative tasks, massive efficiency improvements and cost savings could be realized. “One system for the whole group – that was what we wanted to establish,” said Mr. Riemer Reinalda, Project Manager DiMS! at Gestel Boxmaking.
The duration of the implementation at Gestel Boxmaking was completed in record time. According to Mr. Reinalda: “At the end of November 2003 the decision was made that, by January 1st, 2004, administratively we should be completely live with DiMS! – and we succeeded. The implementation went almost flawlessly.”
With slightly over a month of using the DiMS! software at Gestel Boxmaking, Mr. Reinalda believes they are already experiencing advantages of the system. “Because of the direct connection between both companies, we have an up-to-date view – whenever and wherever – of the stock level, what is in production at that moment and what still has to be produced. Besides that all the information can be processed much quicker. Nowadays we can pull up the numbers in no time.”
Beyond the superiority of the software itself, Mr. Reinalda credits the DiMS!’ implementation team for the success of the project: “DiMS! organizing print has very enthusiastic Consultants who are ready to help us day and night. Several times we experienced that if we had to carry out internal changes during the weekend, we always could depend on their assistance and expertise.”
Proven suitability for Packaging companies
Gestel Boxmaking’s satisfaction with the system attests to DiMS! proficiency in automating the business processes of not only printing companies, but also packaging companies – whether it involves folding carton, flexible packaging or any other branch of this segment. Even when a combination of several packaging activities is performed, DiMS! can easily handle the distinct processes and requirements with competence. The software’s stable architectural foundation, coupled with thorough knowledge and experience in printing and a Business Template developed specifically for the packaging sector, has yielded profits for many of the most prominent packaging companies in the world.
