Largest Taiwanese Web-to-Print Company Switches to Heidelberg

Press release from the issuing company

  • Bai Sha Technology Company Ltd. enters packaging market with Speedmaster XL 75
  • Seven-color press equipped with UV guarantees highest gloss
  • Additional investment in two Speedmaster CD 102 four-color presses

After a major investment in postpress equipment from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) in 2011, Bai Sha Technology Company Ltd. (Bai Sha) completely switched to Heidelberg and replaces its competition machines by Heidelberg equipment. The investment package consists of a Speedmaster XL 75-7+L UV and two Speedmaster CD 102-4 presses.

The company, headquartered in Taichung, operates several print shops in Taiwan and China. Taiwan's biggest web-to-print company employs a workforce of around 400 in Taiwan and another 400 staff in China. Bai Sha is covering a wide range of commercial products, among others wedding cards, table calendars, stationery, folders, cultural printing products, books and yearbooks - but also flexographic and digital printing products.

Increased demand for product quality and safety, have prodded packaging printers to innovate and invest in high quality equipment.

Since the domestic commercial market is quite saturated, Bai Sha decided to also enter the packaging market with the installation of a Speedmaster XL 75. The seven-color press offers excellent flexibility in high quality packaging print. Equipped with UV, the press guarantees highest gloss on all substrates, be it plastic, grating board or gold and silver foil, for the production of stickers, boxes or sophisticated business cards.

Bai Sha General Manager Jun-Jie Chen is convinced that the investment in the Speedmaster XL 75 is the right step at the right time: "Heidelberg is continually developing state-of-the art products for the packaging printing market. Installing such a high-tech press underlines the growing demand for high-quality print products in Taiwan. The new press will give us the necessary competitive edge. What's more, we always can rely on Heidelberg's sales and service team".

Investing in two Speedmaster CD 102 four-color presses also supports the company's approach to enter the packaging market. More and more printers in the region Asia Pacific rely on the well-proven platform of the Speedmaster CD 102. Bai Sha even thinks about installing two further Speedmaster CD 102-4 presses in 2013.

Bai Sha is listed at the Taiwanese stock exchange. Sales of the successful company have increased during each of the previous years. With sales of more than 45 million Euro in 2011, the company could increase its turnover by 2.9 percent compared with 2010.
