Spotlight on Esko Color Management at Packaging Innovations

Press release from the issuing company

Esko will focus on the importance of color in the packaging chain at Packaging Innovations London 2012. Color Engine 12 and its integration with PantoneLIVE will be demonstrated along with the capabilities of Studio 12 at The Business Design Centre, October 4 and 5  2012.

"According to Pantone Color Institute research color increases brand recognition by 80%," states Paul Bates, Esko UK and Eire business manager. "That is because it evokes immediate and strong physiological and psychological bonds underlining how important color is to brand identity. Consciously and subconsciously, accurate color is key to the perception of quality."

Color Engine 12 provides packaging and label professionals with an integrated solution for accurate color reproduction. It builds on spectral data to define ink profiles,  effectively manages spot colors, ensuring that brand owners have perfect color representation – first time, every time, creates and manages multi-ink profiles, crucial for color accurate extended gamut printing and digital printing. It also assures end-to-end accurate color – from design and prepress to print production.

Color Engine 12 is the first professional color management solution to integrate PantoneLIVE and Esko is the first supplier in the industry to bring to market a color management solution that addresses the entire packaging supply chain.

Designs on packaging
Esko will also highlight the time and cost savings delivered by Studio 12 that now goes beyond the primary pack to include secondary, tertiary packaging and any other branded elements in the design process. The new Studio Toolkit combines all components of an integrated packaging or display design in one single application.

Via ArtiosCAD, Studio links through to third party palletization software and as such multiple components can be visualized together while creating the artwork for each component. Store Visualizer 12 takes this concept even further by placing the packaged product in a hyper realistic and dynamic retail environment.

Esko will also partner with Roland DG to highlight the ORIS Color Tuner // Web.

Mr Bates concludes: "The role of packaging has been transformed with 24 hour supermarkets demanding shelf-ready packaging that can be quickly and easily restocked. With these solutions customers can meet the daily challenges of quick, brand aware product design and color management along with faster turnaround times. We look forward to discussing all the savings possible at Packaging Innovations London 2012."
