Press release from the issuing company
Thirty-one of Florida’s top printing and graphic communications firms were recognized with 343 prestigious print awards covering 175 categories, during a reception and banquet at Disney's Swan and Dolphin Resort. The event is the traditional highlight of the 25-year-old awards event. Nine Florida high schools and universities were also awarded numerous Best of Category, Award of Excellence, and Honorable Mention recognitions.
Three Florida companies received a "Benny" Award at the national level; and a total of 55 Florida projects were recognized in Printing Industries of America’s Premier Print Awards competition. The "Benny", a bronze statuette of Benjamin Franklin, is awarded to the most outstanding entry in each category. The three companies with top honors were: Associated Printing Productions, Inc. (APPI); Franklin-Dodd Communications; and Southeastern Printing.
“The judges were thoroughly impressed with the high quality of printing done in the Sunshine State," says George Ryan, CEO and President of the Printing Association of Florida. "The awards showcase Florida’s high quality, progressive, and full service communications firms." Florida Print Awards sponsors included: Heidelberg, HP, Mac Papers, Océ, The Printers Edge, Xerox and xpedx.
