Imation Introduces New Digital Carbonless Paper

Press release from the issuing company

OAKDALE, Minn. (March 1, 2004) - Imation Corp.’s Specialty Papers Division today announced Imation Digital Carbonless Paper, a premium carbonless paper specifically designed to optimize multi-part carbonless forms printing on both monochrome and color copiers and a wide range of laser network printers. Featuring four main technology advancements, Imation’s new Digital Carbonless Papers are designed to improve performance in digital printing environments: · Color Equipment Compatible:  Imation Digital Carbonless Papers are optimized for printing on color and monochrome copier-printers and network printers — allowing the combination of variable data and color in carbonless forms. · Increased Productivity:  Improved frictional qualities of the paper give Imation Digital Carbonless Papers a higher level of runnability than traditional carbonless papers — resulting in dramatically lower jam rates during printing. · Reduced Contamination: Optimized capsule technologies, exclusive to Imation, significantly reduce contamination during printing that can affect printing equipment. · Higher Quality Imaging: The newly designed paper offers a minimum of 10 percent improvement in carbonless image manifolding over current products — enabling a clearer, more consistent image transfer between sheets in a form-set. “The ability to print forms on demand with variable data print features and color can dramatically improve communications on forms, allowing documents to call out important information and places where signatures are required,” said John Danio, Imation sales and marketing manager, Imation’s Specialty Papers business.  “Imation’s Digital Carbonless Papers are optimized for digital printing equipment so users will be able to take greater advantage of a number of custom, variable data applications such as personalization, online numbering, bar coding, print on demand and color on each copy.”  Today’s expanding digital printing marketplace and its equipment manufacturers require exceptionally clean and consistent running media to maintain high productivity standards.  According to Danio,  “Imation’s new Digital Carbonless Papers offer significantly improved runnability in digital printing equipment and includes a color option that is of great benefit for any industry where carbonless paper is a vital part of daily operations.” Imation Digital Carbonless Papers are currently available through authorized Imation Specialty Papers distributors.  To find a local distributor, call 800.826.4886 or visit www.imation.com/specialtypapers.
