Vertis Color Communicator Receives Swop Certification

Press release from the issuing company

Baltimore, MD - Vertis, the premier provider of targeted advertising, media, and marketing services, announced today that its advanced proofing system, Vertis Color Communicator (VCC), has received a certification mark from the Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP). The company is one of the first media producers to receive certification for its proprietary proofing system. In the past, only manufacturers of off-press proofing systems applied for certification by SWOP. With VCC, Vertis assists clients in managing color for advertising and marketing by applying standardized process controls, including those established by the International Color Consortium (ICC). Through systematic measurement, adjustment, and documentation, the advanced proofing system achieves highly accurate replication. VCC uses advanced software for precise simulation of on-press results for all printing processes. “Vertis is proud to be one of the first media providers with a SWOP Certified Proofing System,” says Mike Houser, vice president of operations technology. “The effectiveness of VCC is further enhanced by our quality assurance programs, ensuring the use of high-quality inks and papers to deliver consistent absorption and coating throughout the printing process, with the same results from each facility.” For more information about Vertis Color Communicator, SWOP, or the certification, please contact Donovan Roche or Michelle Metter at (619) 234-0345.
