SAN DIEGO, CA, February 12, 2004 — Encad, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company announced that Unisource, Canada’s largest national single source distributor, has been appointed as a major partner of Encad.
Installation and Locations
Unisource is Canada's national supplier of over 80,000 Paper, Printing, Imaging, Graphic Arts, Packaging and Maintenance Supplies and equipment. Operating from 19 locations and over 1,700,000 square feet of warehouse space, Unisource will sell and install Encad’s complete line of printers, including the new NOVAJET 1000i. The ENCAD NOVAJET 1000i printer, the first printer that combines the wide-format expertise of Encad with Kodak’s extensive knowledge and research in color imaging science, is designed to establish a new definition for productivity in wide-format inkjet printing. This revolutionary printer will redefine the relationship between wide-format printer speed, image quality and cost per print. “Unisource is very fortunate to be joining Encad at this very exciting time. Everyone at Encad is so excited about this product and from everything we’ve seen we believe they have a real winner that will meet the needs of the market.” says Janet Carmichael, Unisource Canada’s National Marketing Manager.
In addition to the printer line, Unisource will sell and support the related ink sets for the Encad printers and the full line of Kodak wide format media. “After reviewing the complete spectrum of media manufacturers, Unisource chose to represent Kodak’s media line as their primary offering for the wide format printing market in Canada. We really feel that the combination of product quality, the breadth of the line and the marketing and support that Encad offers in the Canadian market will be the best solution for Unisource’s wide format printing customers,” says Janet Carmichael.
“This is an important relationship for Encad, in part due to Unisource’s enormous visibility and size within the Canadian market. Their professional sales and technical organizations will have a significant impact on our market share in Canada and we wholeheartedly welcome them as an Encad Valued Partner!” said Barry Lathan, Encad’s CEO.
