Gietz AG celebrated their 120th anniversary and 60 years of participation at DRUPA in Dusseldorf Germany by displaying Five Gietz foil stamping presses. Gietz’s innovative technologies, dazzled attendees to DRUPA with foil stamping performance that delivers up to 100% more productivity!
The top of the line FSA 1060 Foil Commander stole the show with numerous world premiere capabilities, including;
-385 US tons of pressure,
-Patented SMART register system, sheet registration system,
-New toggle system that delivers up to 64% more dwell time regardless of speed,
-Narrow foil web (10mm wide foil on 10,000 meter “bobbin”) application on a platen press,
-Full foil pull across the sheet,
-Patented VACUFOIL foil transport,
-Programmable dwell time,
-Rapid job set-up on platform level,
-Foil Connect Digital Workflow, ability to download job data direct from a PC.
Attendees were able to watch multiple jobs on two Gietz FSA 1060 Foil Commanders deliver unmatched quality, consistency and productivity (8,000 SPH) on multiple jobs.
In one job “EVOLUTION” attendees saw applications of:
-a registered diffractive Gietz-QR Code,
-large combination foil stamping linked with long foil pulls and tight print & foil registration,
-multi-sculptured combination foil stamping motif incorporating fine details and micro-embossing,
-extremely deep embossed Gietz Logo.
This job demonstrated the Foil Commander’s ability to incorporate multiple processes in one operation – impossible on other machines!
Attendees at the KURZ booth saw a Foil Commander producing a folding carton job called “EMOTIONS” showing the new features of the Gietz Foil Commander.

The Gietz ROFO 910 roll-to-roll, flat/flat foil stamping machine demonstrated the latest developments in foil technology and the unique capabilities of the Gietz ROFO machine principle by running a highly sophisticated tobacco carton with hinge lids incorporating multiple capabilities, foil stamped inner frames with micro-embossing and multi-sculptured combination foil stamping of a registered hologram. This attracted a lot of attention from brand managers, designers and packaging companies.
Gietz also demonstrated the FSA 870 compact, called “The Classic” demonstrating difficult professional applications highly attractive to the security printing industry. The Gietz FSA 870 was equipped with a new foil-break protection feature that is ideal for thin materials such as tax banderoles. This half-size sheet machine is ideal for the short-run market.
