With more than 17,000 high-quality trade visitors from some 30 countries, the first collaboration of Messe Düsseldorf Asia and local partner PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI) for INDOPRINT, INDOPACK and INDOPLAS 2012 in Jakarta, was very successful. At the three trade fairs, some 249 exhibitors from 19 nations presented their latest product developments, applications and solutions for the printing, packaging and plastics industries. Exhibiting for the first time were companies from Italy, Japan, Turkey and the U.S. National groups and pavilions from Austria, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan further improved the international standard of INDOPRINT, INDOPACK and INDOPLAS 2012.  The visitors came mainly from Indonesia, Southeast Asia and other parts of Asia.

The joint organizers are extremely pleased with the results. “Compared to the previous years we see a significant increase in visitors, demonstrating the importance of INDOPRINT, INDOPACK and INDOPLAS for the local market,” commented Rini Sumardi, Director of WAKENI. “Our partnership with Messe Düsseldorf Asia was the right decision in order to bring the exhibitions to a new level and we look forward to strengthening our cooperation in the future.”

Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, added: “I am very pleased with the results and the positive visitor numbers indicate that the exhibitions have been a complete success both in terms of the quantity as well as the quality of the visitors. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all exhibitors, visitors, partners and supporters who made this year’s editions of these trade fairs an absolute success.”

The feedback from the exhibitors has also been very positive, with companies commenting on the high quality of visitors which were decision-makers and therefore able to close sales deals onsite. “At INDOPRINT we had a number of very interesting meetings with potential customers and we are confident that these will later lead to sales deals,” stated Raymond Tan, Regional Sales Manager at Mosca Asia Pte Ltd.

Tony Suryono, Assistant Manager at Aneka Warna Indah, was also very satisfied with their participation at INDOPRINT 2012: “We are a repeat exhibitor and I noticed that this year, more owners and directors are coming to the event. We will definitely take part again in 2014.”

Optimistic comments and the commitment to return at the next edition also came from Korean company Lichtzen Co Ltd. President & CEO Kim Yong Sun was very pleased with the organization of INDOPRINT and looks forward to benefit from the vast growth potential the local printing industry can offer his company.

Exhibitors at INDOPACK 2012 had similar opinions. “Our participation exceeded our expectations, we met a lot of customers and potential buyers who are interested in our packaging machinery which are 100% made in Indonesia according to our German standards,” remarked Eckhard Merz from Merz Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH.

Sunil Daniel, Executive Manager (Marketing) of Uflex Limited, stated that he was able to meet a number of likely distributors and potential customers at INDOPACK 2012 and is “confident that we will be back in two years to further expand our business in Indonesia”.

According to Tommy Taslim, Marketing Manager at Miwon Indonesia, the company saw a noticeable improvement in terms of visitor quality and quantity this year and plans to return in 2014 with a larger booth.

“We are very satisfied with our participation at INDOPLAS 2012, both as an exhibitor and organizer of a successful seminar with 80 participants,” commented Gerald Ausweger, Chief Representative of SML Maschinen GmbH (exhibitor within the Austrian Pavilion). “In our opinion, a two-year-cycle is very good for this exhibition and we hope to be back in 2014.”

For INDOPLAS 2012 exhibitor (within the Singapore Pavilion) Hotset Singapore, Asia Marketing Manager Winson Lee, noted: “The market in Indonesia offers a lot of growth potential for our company and we are confident that we will be back in 2014.”

Having fulfilled his exhibition target in the first two days of INDOPLAS, Andreas Kollenda, Sales Director Asia of Andritz Technologies, commented: “We wanted to find a local distributor as we realize the importance of having a local partner who knows the Indonesian market and can take care of customer relationships.”
