Mohawk's New Website, MohawkConnects.com

Press release from the issuing company

Mohawk’s new web site merges Mohawk’s corporate site (www.mohawkpaper.com) with its former e-commerce web site (www.mohawkpaperstore.com). Today, MohawkConnects.com serves as the primary source of information for printers who want to buy directly from Mohawk or engage with the company in a more personal way.

IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY, RESOURCES
MohawkConnects.com features simpler navigation, robust search, new tools and resources:

NAVIGATION + SEARCH
The entire site is easy to search: Printers will especially appreciate Mohawk’s new Digital Selectors, which make it easy to search for digital papers by paper type or by equipment type. Leading press manufacturers and their equipment are included in this dynamic engine: Canon, HP, Kodak, Konica Minolta, OCE, Ricoh, Xeikon, and Xerox.

“With shorter, more frequent print runs, customers want their projects to stand out. Cutting-edge digital printers are looking for new ways to tap this emerging market need, and Mohawk’s new tools make it easier for them to matchmake,” said Chris Harrold, VP, Business Development, Digital Media.

STREAMLINE
The simplification of Mohawk’s product line has meant the deletion of many redundant items. Project Streamline is supported by a web-based application that facilitates the search or replacement of any item.

CONNECT
Another feature printers will appreciate is the new “share” feature conveniently accessed throughout MohawkConnects.com. Most articles, product searches and stories, and case studies are easily shared with customers directly, on any device at any time. “The site contains numerous improvements for printers that will allow them to work the way they want to work, often on the fly,” said Hilary Davis, Interactive Marketing Manager. Davis led the team responsible for this year-long project.

LEARN + MAKE
The site contains tools, tutorials, and templates — all available for download — making it easier for printers to provide education and support to their customers or their own internal teams. The new ecosystem includes hundreds of tools and resources and a rich tutorial library.

WHAT’S NEW: VIP PRINTERS
All printers are eligible to join Mohawk’s VIP Printer program, and VIP Printers are afforded special benefits:

  • Printers can now purchase Mohawk products directly from the mill at significant discounts off the retail price.
  • Many more items are available through Mohawk, including specialty papers, non-standard envelopes, and unique substrates such as embedded magnets and cards.

“Mohawk's Specialty Digital materials have quickly become popular for uses in verticals as diverse as retail, education and healthcare,” said Harrold. “Digital printers across the country are using these substrates to round out their portfolio of services and strengthen their relationship with their customers with quick turn, high value printing.”

Mohawk VIP Printers are also eligible for LTL shipping options and the ability to save multiple shipping addresses, a long time request from printers. The previous benefits customers have enjoyed such as the ability to order cartons, broken cartons, and samples all remain.

MOHAWK’S COMMITMENT TO PRINTERS
Mohawk is evolving its connections with and support of the print community in other ways:  Last fall, Mohawk launched MakeReady. This platform for digital printers offers practical tools and information by Mohawk experts  including production, marketing, sales, and operations. The deliverables include talks, briefs, and case studies. The launch of MohawkConnects.com and MakeReady represent a significant investment by Mohawk in the future of the new generation of print.

The site was designed by Hydrant and developed by Avatar New York.  “Our partnership with both of these firms has been a key factor in the success of our new business initiatives,” said Davis. Both teams brought a unique perspective and expertise to the challenge. Their work has created a stable foundation for Mohawk to improve the way we do business with our customers.”
