Press release from the issuing company

The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) has announced that Larry Kroll has been hired as its Vice President of Development. Larry has a long history of activity in the industry and education, as well as involvement with PGSF. He has previously served as a director on the board since 1999 and was its chair from 2004 to 2005.

Brian Regan, PGSF chairman, stated, “Larry is uniquely qualified to fill this position with his wide range of experience and contacts throughout the industry. We are looking forward to having him work with us on moving the Foundation into the future.”

Larry entered the industry upon graduation from high school and has a Masters degree from Illinois State University. He spent 20 years at Original Smith Printing (Bloomington, IL) and as CEO led it to recognition as one of the leading companies in the industry. In 1989 it was named by NAPL as a Management Plus Hall of Fame company. He later sold the firm to the Taylor Corporation of Mankato, Minnesota.

Larry later joined Heidelberg USA in Atlanta as Vice President of the Print Media Academy. During the following 13 years he was responsible for continuing education programs as well as liaison with IGAEA, GAERF, ACCGC, vendors, and the education community. He played an active role in expanding the SkillsUSA program and working to coordinate efforts between the various industry organizations, printers, and educators.

For the past three years Larry has been a managing partner at Market Reason, a company that uses innovative technologies to drive marketing efforts. This past November Larry and his partners sold Market Reason to Minneapolis-based American Spirit Graphics.
