Press release from the issuing company

NORTHLAKE, IL - October 23, 2003 - Sun Chemical has appointed Mark J. Levin as Corporate Vice President, North American Publication Inks, according to Mike Murphy, President, Sun Chemical North American Inks. Levin will direct sales of inks and coatings to the publication market, which includes primarily heatset and gravure printers. In addition, he will coordinate and set direction for commercial/publication web-related research and development, as well as manufacturing in Sun Chemical’s publication mother plants. US Ink, a Sun Chemical division responsible for sales to the newspaper market, operates separately from North American Publication Inks. Levin joined Sun Chemical from press manufacturer Heidelberg Web Systems, where he most recently was Senior Vice President, Sales. “He brings excellent experience in sales to the graphic arts industry, having achieved ‘best-in-class’ market share, while building a strong brand and close customer relationships,” Murphy said. “It will be interesting to make the transition to the leadership team of the industry’s preeminent ink supplier after 24 years with one of the industry’s preeminent press manufacturers,” Levin said. “I expect to use this experience and perspective to help Sun Chemical build on its distinguished reputation and to help grow its publication business.”
